The Watchers sequels are funny. Everyone I've seen was just another attempt at adapting the original novel and failing miserably. They took 4 bites at that apple and never once got remotely close to the book.

I too saw it in the theaters, unfortunately. I don't even know why since I liked the premise of Blair Witch, but thought the movie itself was bad (save for the last scene) and went full-on backlash when people started gushing about how original it was.
Tetralogy. Huh. See, this is why I love the A.V. Club. I learn something new every day.
If you like a ponytail wearin' Sean Connery in a thong and straps brandishing a raygun and giant flying stone heads. Zardoz is the movie for you.
Dirigible.
Would Zardoz II be Zmaofoz? Or Eturntooz?
Granted, but iirc with most of those films, the documentarian brings their cinema verite style to the movie.
Yup giant shiny silver completely unrealistic but still fucking terrifying garden shears.
What if you were "eviscerated by an ocelot"?
Exactly, otto mann. And it furthers builds on the motherhood theme with Ripley losing an adoptive daughter much in the same way that she lost her own.
Ocelot's a great word! It's got assonance ends on a hard consonant.
I will never understand the logic behind hiring a guy who is known for being a documentary filmmaker…and making him do a traditional horror film. That movie was doomed from the get go.
Highlander Dos
No Highlander thread yet? Wow.
I'm glad for you too.
Prom Night 2 is really good. It's very atmospheric. They used to show it on USA all the time when I was a kid and I ended up watching it almost every time.

FEAR THE EVIL LOCUST DEMON OF…zzzzZZZzzzzzzZZZZZ
I don't understand why Alien 2 and 3 are on this list. All the Alien movies have a unique style and color palate, but they're all thematically the same. It's about reproduction and motherhood. Each sequel builds on that theme and in addition to the main character being the same in each, played by the same actress,…
Oh blergh…I skimmed over the two paragraphs where Keith said pretty much the same thing.
I think you meant "Romana" instead of "Rowena" as well, drdarkeny. =P
