My wife is Asian and is really into Korean dramas. I've noticed that the female leads are usually no more than pleasantly pretty, and definitely not as attractive as their male co-stars. The hottest women in those shows are always either second bananas or antagonists.

I dropped Cinemax after I got married back in 2005—can't watch movies like that with the wife around—but the T&A industry was going downhill. They used to have lovely women like Whirry, or Kira Reed, or Gabriella Hall. Latter-day Cinemax After Dark featured a lot of moonlighting porn stars.

Yep.

Then why was she aiming it at the Russian dude the whole time?

Using hypnosis in any work takes me right out of the work. "I'm going to make you my mind-controlled slave by flashing a ring at you." Dumb.

That's silly. How could she cover his escape with a sniper rifle from across the street? How does a rifle help him get through the building? The sniper rifle was cheap misdirection.

I knew it was a reference to "Firefly" because all this time at the AV Club has taught my by osmosis that a character named Wash was on "Firefly". What the quote actually means and its relevance to this episode is a mystery.

This show is starting to feel less like a spy drama and more like a classroom lecture on sexism. Quoting from "A Doll's House" is laying it on super thick.

Maybe Asylum can make a mockumentary about the making of an Asylum movie.

"How to Get Dana Delany Naked in a Movie and Still Have It Suck"

I bet this is better than "Fifty Shades of Gray". Charisma Carpenter is definitely sexier than the chick they got for that movie.

No, that was pretty unworthy. Pacino was way past Large Ham status by that point.

That was the best scene in the movie. "I just quit."

Didn't like his character in "Magnolia". Sad sack loser. Scenes could have been cut and the movie would not have been hurt.

So—the AV Club is mocking Shirley Manson for commenting about current events on her own Facebook page. Well, ok then.

Yes.

Yes

WRONG!

I posted downthread that after reading Eddie Huang's piece, I'm not gonna watch his show. I kind of want this show to die a quick death just to piss Eddie Huang off. It's really a pity that the first Asian-American show in 20 years had to be based off of this guy's book.

I'm going to follow Eddie Huang's advice, and not watch this show. Well done, Eddie, you convinced this Whitey McWhiterson TV viewer to not share in your life experience.
