20 years between "best performances"? None too shabby.

All this talk about Hopper being a Republican (and the irony associated because of "Free Rider") misses the fact that certified Space Truckers generally are a pretty conservative bunch. Once Hopper gave up the open road on the saddle of a hog to get behind of the wheel of an intergalactic rig, well, his politics

I love the sex scene from Enemy at the Gates because Rachel Weisz is in it.

Pilgrim, I don't believe I've ever said anything about hot lead enemas, but if it cured your spinal stenosis, I'm all for it.

I couldn't find the actual response, nor could I remember it, so I went with the later Russia bitching.

I heard that Maclachlan was dead the whole time and that Joel Osment got in a drunken car accident.

Are you planning to grow reindeer or something? How the heck are you supposed to train here? What a depressing vacation. What about the Rose Bowl game? I hope they have my comics here.

Jorge,

Thanks, AV Club
Thanks for interviewing Paul, AV Club. I am a huge fan of synthpop and these types of interviews never happen because few people care about the genre.

You know you may have invented them?
…Companies marketing to/developing products for long-haul interstate truckers.

I've never seen that Simpsons thing with Brooks walking out. Interesting.

The commentary is kinda funny. Leelee is annoyingly ponderous (IIRC), and Steve Zahn (recorded separately) keeps saying "oh, man, it was so much fun to film here, it was really cool, (car slides) weeeeeeroooooooon, zzeeeeet!"

Well… sounds like hermano is about to get his ass kicked.

Great DVD Extras
"Sneakers" has a great making of/commentary where the writers describe the process of making the film. Although there is some overlap between the two features, they are both great if you're a fan of the film. "Out of Sight" also has a pretty good making of if you like the movie.

When Irony meets Non-irony
Douche Diamond was invited to my school to host our annual student film festival. The previous year we had gotten the guys from American Movie, which was very cool and at least related to student films/filmmaking. But Screech? I'm guessing a) the committee didn't have a lot of cash and b)

About 20 minutes were cut from Cliffhanger. Some for violence, some for time. A lot of these cuts end up making parts of the movie nonsensical, like when Michael Rooker shows up with a shotgun after Stallone kills a guy. A whole scene was axed there showing Rooker coming to Stallone's aid. I haven't seen the uncut

PMMJ, I hate to break it to you, but Cliffhanger is awesome. Tell me a better climbing action movie. K2? Sucks. Vertical Limit? Even worse (and with CGI bs).

Renny Harlin
A lot of people hate Renny Harlin. I can understand it, since his track record is, howdoyousay, spotty.
