Yeah, those were some of my favorite high school bands (full disclosure: Green Day was also one of my favorite bands, but between Warning and American Idiot, I think they earned it around that time).

@avclub-6997a8bd0e1042b70b60c5c879a1780e:disqus that last dive made no sense.  It would fucking kill you if you tried it in real life.

Well, he shares Corgan's penchant for making shitty follow-up bands that try to coast off the success of his previous act, but he's had the good grace not to name any of those bands "Blink-182."

Well, I know what's going to be in my head for the next week.

I got it the first time I tried to tell my dad what albums I wanted for my birthday that year.

I discovered them in middle school, and believe that they probably capture the mind of a middle school boy more accurately than any other band, particularly in their attitude toward girls- there's a mixture of fascination, desire, and absolute terror in the lyrics that really rings true.

On the other side of the coin, the genre conventions of "punk" are so often focused on everything that is not the music itself that conversations about who is "punk" and who isn't frequently degenerate into a dick-waving contest.

@avclub-6c73e29b5c799f2bd212a97678a3a197:disqus That's pretty good, but I liked it more when I thought it read "This is the home of my van."

Huh?  The Mother wasn't in this storyline at all.  Not even mentioned.

@avclub-96f15daceb6669363fbf7f762ed57703:disqus yes, I'm sure that successful blockbuster movies that give the space program a more prominent role in the national consciousness and capture some of the sense of wonder people feel when they look at the stars are absolutely terrible for NASA.
    I can't wait for Gravity's

My name is Doug. My ex-girlfriend calls me by the second half of my name, though she didn't do that when we were together.  Well, not that often, at least.

    That should be "Jew-ier."

Anyone would feel miffed if they were replaced by Josh Radnor.

Is that a frequent belief?  I think Lily works as a character because she's got the happy Alyson Hannigan veneer, but frequently drops it and goes into "cut a bitch" mode. It provides an amusing comic contrast.

Is there any word on how long Jason Segel's going to be separated from the rest of the cast?  I'm impressed with how they've managed to incorporate him so far, but I'm not sure I want this to be the status quo for the entire season.  Was this the condition he required in order to come back for Season 9?

What are you talking about?  Billy Zabka was the protagonist of The Karate Kid.

Or it's just one of those broments when a light rain has brogun, but there's not enough cloud cover to brompletely block out the sun.

Couldn't they just try to halfpipe their way out, running a little at the bottom and jumping a little at the top to build momentum each time?

No source, just general observation.  It's a three-part series involving three young people working against an evil empire, two of whom are siblings, two of whom become a romantic item before the series ends, one of whom is a chosen one destined to restore balance to the world with the help of a mysterious force of

I really like that movies are called "movers." Though I don't think Bolin's stock is going up anytime soon- if things continue on their current course, Pabu will be training him to become an animal sidekick in a few episodes, and in Book Three, he'll be perched on Mako's shoulder and hilariously stealing Asami's food.
