City of God is so, so good. And had Buffy ended with season 5, it would have been just about perfect (there's good stuff in the last two seasons and I like the series finale, but that final shot of Season 5 would have been just about a flawless conclusion).

LCD was amazing so hopefully now you are ready for the first and third albums (and 45:33). A trimmed-down SoS would have made a great EP, but it's not their best full-length IMO.

I've heard similar statements before from people who didn't read comics as a kid. I can only assume that there IS a fair amount of visual 'grammar' that you simply absorb unconsciously at an impressionable age, and if people miss that window, it's not always easy for them to catch up.
