This was my thought, though they've never come out and said it - Van Helsing was the only one who knew (or believed) jack about vampires and now he's dead, so it allows the other characters to do stupid stuff in that arena because "what's a 'vampire'?".

I much prefer Badmotorfinger to Superunknown, but "My Wave" is stellar.

Chiming in simply to say that Rome was fantastic; until GoT came along, I ranked it just behind Wire (and above Deadwood, though I realize this will be contentious) in my personal HBO pantheon. Very, very good show, that even managed to find a fresh take on "Et tu?".
