I'm absolutely confident that if Homeland had always been as ridiculous and Michael Mann-esque as the show was post-Q&A, nobody would've batted an eye. Say what you want about Rome — that the recreation of Caesar's death was AWFUL, that it was melodramatic as all get out, that the 2nd season pretty much needn't have existed — but the deaths were very well earned.
