A-
I loved this episode. The Alterna-Ben dialogue was too pointed, yes, but Emerson (as always) sold it all so well. His breakdown with Ilana was powerful. In the hands of a lesser actor, it would have been incredibly cheesy, but he made it heartbreaking.

Hate and incest are the only reasons I get up every morning.

Yeah, directing "Point Break" is enough for legendary status in my mind. Haven't seen "The Hurt Locker," but I'm betting it'll go right up there on the top shelf, too. "K19" wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but it did give us Harrison Ford with a Russian accent, which is worth 10 Avatars.

Agreed, Lapidus is awesome. He strikes the perfect balance between Han Solo-like cynical disbelief ("weirdest damn funeral I've ever been to"), while also wearily following along, because really, what else are you gonna do? Like Miles, he's about the only character who seems to have his head on straight and isn't

I'm with Noel. The Season 4 set-up of Sun as avenging-super-rich-dragon-lady-in-league-with-Chuck-Whidmore-badass was great. Since then, she's been, as you say, cargo.

Shadow, my thoughts exactly. The alterna-verse is the choice Smokey offers. But like any "satanic" choice, it's rife with complication… Nadia comes back, but she's married to Sayid's brother. Locke gets Helen, but can't walk. Jack doesn't have a drinking problem, but he is stuck with a doofus son. Dogen gets his son

Thank God for A Grey Man, bravely bringing the fight over gay marriage to a marginal pop culture website's review of a new reality TV show.

Spot on
Spot on review, Todd. I don't agree with your NYC elite bit, but everything else is spot on. The show is mean spirited and, worse, not at all funny. The most nauseating part was watching Seinfeld, Baldwin, and Ripa double over with laughter at everything anyone said, despite not being funny at all!
