Although I wouldn't agree with the "and got worse from there" part the Twins Peaks pilot has to come close to that territory. It really was transcendent and while there were higher highs during the run at points I don't think any other single full episode quite put it together as well in presenting the allure of this

Where's Vaughn?
The episodes so far this season have been fine, but I've been wondering where is Vaughn? At the the start of the season it looked like Vaughn would be driving things this season but then Jessie came along and we haven't even seen Vaughn in weeks. I think the aspect of Michael doing things for Vaughn

Character Development
I gotta say after watching it we are still sorely in need of character development. After one episode it would be understandable for not everyone to be well developed but everyone still seems to be stock characters. Hopefully the whole killer fortune cookies will ring some character out of

Essentially just buy the tv series boxset
Unlike some of the other gateways to geekery I feel Monty Python has a pretty clear path to understanding: Buy the complete tv series box set and start up dvd 1. The series starts off good enough that there is no real danger of being turned off in those early episodes

David Lynch
Let's just have David Lynch do the re-make. I'd watch it.

Roger & Me
Roger & Me I think is quite a good documentary at illustrating its point. I think it is helped by the fact Moore shot it over a number of years without really knowing exactly where he was going. It ended up illuminating the situation better. His later work has suffered from him having a strong viewpoint

Silence! I concur.

The Village
From the Prisoner of course (God knows, not the M. Night Shyamalan one). Always something going on there.

Yeah, Working was the first thing I thought of seeing the interview. Saw the whole show when it was on, but remember very little. Of the characters on the show I remember liking Kenny Banya the most. I would like to see it again some time but sure if it would actually be any good.

I blame the Onion Movie
The budget for the print version apparently assumed the movie was going to make buckets of money to bail it out.

Honestly I think it is is 3 main things. One a lot of the bad movies are in the can/production before the good movie even comes out. The profile raising happens after the bad movie is already made/in production. Second, raised profile leads to greater ability to do vanity projects. Kevin Costner is a good example of

2nd movie
They should make the 2nd movie a prequel to this prequel and make it so Kirk and Khan just happen to go to the same high school. Hilarity could ensue. Oh, and make Shatner the wacky principal.

Bleh
Well I got a free subscription for doing some surveys. Usually forget to read it, it will be very vaguely missed I guess.

Sounds like a good idea
Makes people looking for the movies happy to finally get them on dvd, and gives WB a revenue stream from stuff that was going to generate no revenue otherwise. It would nice if this succeeds and other companies open their vaults to dvds or digital downloads.

Haibane Renmei and Genshiken
Haibane Renmei sit on the top of my anime list. Beautifully drawn characters with a character driven plot and generally interesting reflections on the nature of self and life. It certainly shows a side of anime as contemplative and thoughtful you miss in things like Ninja Scroll or any

I almost forgot this was coming out with all my dissertation work. I need to buy this ASAP. Fox Confessor was amazing, I still listen to it compulsively.

It's too bad
this movie doesn't live up to the standards set by the DOA movie.

Starman by James Robinson fits with the Moore and Gaiman work you like. It has a nice historical feel to it and Opal City is really developed as its own character in the series. The Shade also is really interesting character in the series and his background/history seen the book make him seem like he would be a good

The first 3 left me apathetic.
I didn't think it possible but after the first 3 I actually am apathetic towards this one despite my great love for the tv series. I expected them to be a bit rusty when these movies started but after 3 movies that didn't really approach the quality of even mediocre Futurama tv episodes

He certainly deserves it. And if his comments can be believed he would actually go to the ceremony and get it.
