A-roving! A-roving!Since roving's been my roo-aye-inn,I'll go no more a-roving with you, fair maid!!!

The props and construction people on this show are incredible.  I loved hearing the reaction from the audience when the blood started spurting.  It's a reaction you don't normally hear in an SNL sketch.  It was laughter mixed with gasps of horror.  Some people are particularly squeamish at the sight of blood — even

Part of it was that the movies made you too familiar with Hannibal.  Part of what's frightening about him is that he's inscrutable.  Not to detract from Hopkins's abilities but Mads has *height* and an air of elegance.  You can understand why people are drawn to him.

The documentary crew stuff is dreadful.  Every time anyone in the office directly acknowledges the crew this season has been so awkward.  And the crew manage to whip up a music montage of Jim and Pam's greatest hits for him within the workday?  And that DVD is the thing that convinces Pam that Jim's cool with staying

This show is… better than it should be.  And it might be the declining returns from the movies but… I hazard to say that I'm finding Mads Mikkelsen to be a more intriguing/threatening presence than Anthony Hopkins.  At the very least, it's extremely smart casting to get someone who's so far away from Hopkins, in terms

This is 40 is dreadfully self-indulgent.  There are no stakes.  There is the hint of something interesting in the premise.  This couple hits 40 and are faced with a financial crisis.  Suddenly, their laid-back Hollywood standard of living is in jeopardy… except it never is.  I was hoping that maybe you'd at least see

I was surprised — I liked this a lot more than the first episode.  Maron's acting is definitely more natural.  I'm curious how they craft the interview bits; the safe bet is that it's all scripted but these are comedians and I can also imagine them improv'ing a bit.  To make it feel more natural.

I remember sometimes wandering the great expanses for a long while trying to find the next colossus…

In the lead as himself, though, Maron struggles at times. He’s stiff in a few scenes, his line readings and expression telegraphing “I am acting” to a distracting degree.
What's distracting to me is that he seems to be trying to be funny.  I almost feel like the scenarios would be funnier if tried acting more

I'm with you with everything except I really liked SLEEPWALK WITH ME.  Maybe it's because I'm not as familiar with Birbig's work.  (Mostly know him from segments on THIS AMERICAN LIFE.)  Maron's acting is a little disappointing.  Made worse when the script seems to be skimmed from a lot of raw material I've heard from

It's odd to me because I've been listening to WTF for a while now — watching this show feels a little *too* familiar.  Like I'm watching a Cliff Notes version of the podcast.  I almost feel like the show might be more entertaining for someone who's NOT familiar with WTF.  I think it's part of the growing pains of a

I haven't seen American Dad in a while.  I only stumbled on this one because NASCAR shifted all the programming off by about 22 minutes, so I recorded the entire Fox Animation Sunday night.

How do you think this compares to season 1 of VERONICA MARS…?
(Don't answer — it's a trap!)

I'm a little annoyed that I watched it without realizing it was the finale.  Where's the tease for next week's… *oh*.  My life is empty.

I like how you've gotten pounced on by the Veronica Mars people… in the comment section of a MAD MEN episode recap!  I just wanted to make an innocuous comment about seeing a lot of Harry Hamlin recently!

How dare you speak poorly of America's sweetheart, Veronica Mars!

Loved seeing their "Holy Shit!" reaction to the classic end of Planet of the Apes.  Don seems genuinely rocked by it — on an emotional and creative level.  You don't often see him get that viscerally surprised by someone else's creative effort.  Even better, how he asks Bobby if he'd like to watch it again — because

Because I just watched the last season of SHAMELESS and the first season of VERONICA MARS — along with an IFC marathon of classic ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT — I feel like I've been seeing Harry Hamlin everywhere lately…

Wow.  This really was a "miserable, sack of shit show".  No hate-watching Season 2 for me.  Cue the Taylor Swift music.  We are never, ever, ever getting back together.

They don't show him actually dying.  Claire makes a big to-do about making sure they verify he's dead and that the charred remains are his.  They confirm a dental-records match — which means bupkis because no one in law enforcement knows how to do their jobs in THE FOLLOWING.  And Joe coming back for revenge is the
