I'm going to pull like 90% of this out of my ass, but: Some particularly stringent christian denominations have rules about food. Seventh Day Adventists are strict vegetarians, and keep the original OT sabbath. It's not a stretch to think that some other denomination might keep kosher as well.

I loved this episode. Loved it. But now that I know that the musical director was played by Taran Killam.. All I can think about is that the guy is nailing Cobie Smulders. Oh well.

Yep. The '58 fury makes an appearance, as does a certain Maine town in '58 that has a clown problem.

I see my confusion: I saw "Misery Porn" as having the same connotation as "Scenery Porn". That is, something that goes into more detail than is strictly necessary.

Let me ask you something: Are you unfamiliar with the plight of abused animals? Do you need to see the suffering of dogs and cats almost lovingly dwelt upon on TV? That's what makes it "Misery Porn".

So where's Opus?

People who like this sort of thing will find this the sort of thing they like.

music…
I can't imagine any other Show using "April Come She Will". What a great tune.

I too am waiting for Tim to grace us with his presence. What I imagine he will say: "I was expecting this to be a REAL history of Hawaii and American Imperialism. Not a overview of Sarah Vowell's Pop Culture obsessions!!!!1!!"

I think so, yes.

Tim Lieder
I heard he hated this episode because he thought it was going to be a straight retelling of "My Dinner with Andre".

the O.C. is timeless?

@Ack Don't you mean "WharWilf"?

Okay, so lesson learned. Vicodin and Commenting don't mix very well. Damned broken leg. Damned iced over jetway stairs.

feh.
Saying "y'all" does not make one a southerner.
Southern cooking would truly be encapsulated by a "Waffle House" Challenge. Let 'em work the night shift at a WH in atlanta. I bet we'd see some real tears then.

It looked like Padma was genuinely sorry to see Tre go. One wonders if that was calculated on her part, or a real reaction to his elimination. Perhaps she just liked staring at him.

Dammit.
Here begins the inevitable TVDW led hipster backlash against Community. I had high hopes it would make to the next season before this happened.. FOr fuck's sake, people. This episode was awesome. It earned an 'A' with the "BBT sucks!" that pierce saw through annie's peephole.

without reading the article..
No.

I really was sort of a Marcel apologist before tonight, but no more. What a douchebag. Carla won, she should have been able to enjoy her moment.
