I hear your point about them needing to give Peter a bigger, nobler reason to fight Ego than revenge but I thought they handled that quite nicely with the "What's wrong with being like everybody else?" moment. That's the type of thing that would set the secretly deeply compassionate Peter off and it says volumes

I was shocked by how much I loved Drax in this movie. They give him more to do this time around and it really works.

Saw it last night as the second half of a double feature with the first movie. GOTG remains my favorite MCU film - not necessarily the best but certainly the one I've watched the most times and found enjoyable over and over (I mean, I thought and still think that The Winter Soldier was a terrific movie but it's not

"Heffalumps and Woozles" from Winnie the Pooh gets into my head at the oddest of times and won't leave for days and days. For some reason "they're quick and slick and insincere" and "beware/beware/be a very wary bear" just cycles round and round.

I like Zoey and I thought she did fine but they really need to up the crazy supporting characters around her so that she can be the sane person, which is what her character works best as (I mean, her reacting to Charlie was the best part).

I thought he was handsome but also came across as super-patronizing to her. Recast or rewrite one.

A lot of the exchanges in the break room were hilarious - they always are - but I also got irrationally mad at Glenn for introducing the whole vote idea. I get it, Glenn, you want to think the best of everybody and have everybody like you but that was just opening the floor to a whole new level of viciousness.

Basically the joke has always been that he's amazingly good at his job but never seems to speak or move so maybe there's hope that he's just being his usual old Brett self?

That was a surprisingly effective disaster sequence for a sitcom to pull off. I mean, ultimately what mattered is how it reflected and pushed forward character dynamics - which this show is great at - but it also felt powerful enough and scary enough to make me think about my own memories of surviving a tornado,

Dragon Tales/GOT crossover - educational but with more gore.

For all the problems Batman Returns has, I think DeVito and Pfeiffer are both memorable in it.

Prometheus really did look incredible. The use of 3D and size was masterful. It really didn't hold up on rewatch for me at all other than one sequence (I do think that performing-your-own-surgery scene is pretty great body horror). And it's such a weird misuse of a pretty great cast.

Actually want to see: Guardians, The Survivalist. Will certainly see out of misplaced loyalty to the franchise: Alien, Pirates. Pretending I don't want to see but will suggest it as a date night movie because I have a soft spot for weepy romances: Everything, Everything (hey, the book was actually pretty good and

Balsamic and egg nog, which is a genius horrible combination.

I called the helpful stranger driving off in the car. I was not proud of myself. Though I was a little proud of the car thief, since the Dunphy/Pritchett family was being especially entitled and clueless tonight.

Remember that awful episode where Cam and Mitchell were supposed to be joining a protest against an anti-gay restaurant but wound up eating there instead? This felt a lot like that. The joke is partly supposed to be on the privileged, comfortable people in their little cocoon who totally fail to make any kind of

Pretty much every part of the prom plot worked - JJ's anti-prom ending in a real connection, Ray being stuck between his conscience and making out, the weird Cocktail/bartender runner. Didn't like the argument subplot as much, though Kenneth getting way too enthusiastic about being the judge and Jimmy being irritated

That's excellent. You guys have really improved your Comics coverage over the years.

There is something seriously wrong with the texture of most fast food fish sandwiches. The fish never feels like something that actually occurs in nature.

It may be just my nostalgia from growing up in Oklahoma but dammit I love Whataburger. I once burst into tears after getting off a 12 hour flight at DFW because there was a Whataburger at the gate. (Granted, I also hadn't slept in a couple of days.)
