Roll call of famous criminals: I was happy to see that Abslom Daak, Dalek Killer, is now apparently canon. Perhaps a tribute to the author who created him, the recently deceased Steve Moore.

Really? Tight grey suit, red bow tie, and zero references to Peewee Herman?

I feel that this show's overall message is that there is no such thing as "righteous" violence. There are moments of intense violent satisfaction, but I'd be hard pressed to think of any moment of violence on the show— no matter how "righteous" its vengeance— which led to more happiness on the part of the characters

I would argue that the faux-empowerment was entirely intentional. I think that many of you— including Ryan— might be missing that the end of last season, with Naevia killing Ashur, was never seen as the end of her arc. Rather, that moment was her moment of initiation, not into physical-strength-as-empowerment, but

On behalf of recovering Nice Guys everyone, let me be the first to say: sorry you had to deal with that. Better or worse than out-and-out assholes, Nice Guys are definitely trickier. We are constantly trying every trick in our book to get you to like us, regardless of how selfish our behavior ultimately is. To be

Does your understanding of the concept of the "Nice Guy" equal unrequited love? If so, then clearly we are under different working definitions of the term. The use of the phrase "Nice Guy" is not, at its core, about the unrequited love. It's about passivity and indirectness leading to forms of passive aggression, to

A reasonable theory.

Not to the stalker level, necessarily. But yes, it's common. It's not an academic "reversal of a trope" to note that many men, in fact, do act as underdog nice guy types with long held secret feelings for a female friend. And then to gradually resent the woman if she betrays all his selfless time spent being her

Oh really? That seals it. Y'all called it. Lola is the probation worker.

Completely agreed. I have gained a whole new respect for him, but I wasn't really aware of him before Misfits. Here, he didn't at all come off as a comedic actor trying to appear threatening, as is almost universally the case when "bad versions" of characters show up in genre shows. He genuinely threatened.

Aw man. If that's why, honestly I guess his concern was probably justified. But man, are his talents being wasted right now, compared to the bright shining star he was able to be on Misfits.
