Yes, but what Calvin is trying to explain is that you don't forget about the ghost stuff, it's simply explained away. You wouldn't watch Psycho and at the end say that everyone seems to have forgotten about Norman's mother… But if you're interested in Hitchcock's storytelling technique, I suggest you do a google…
