I thought Carrie Underwood displayed more personality her year than Jessica has this year.  She was a little wooden at the microphone, but I never remember being utterly bored for by her. Carrie was also 20 or 21 when she won rather than 16 which I'm sure makes a difference.

Oh, I agree that it is possible.  But there is something about her whole demeanor that is offputting to me when I have to watch her.  I think if I just heard her music on the radio, I'd like her very much.

I agree.  The back half of this season has been really fun to watch and has me looking forward to what's in store for season 2.  I almost stopped watching this early on but I'm glad I stuck with it.
