"Deftly written"? Doesn't a movie need a plot to be deftly written?

I hate the current trend of using "real actors" instead of "voice actors" in animated films. I HATE the sound of Clooney's voice, especially, but beside that, voice acting is a skill set totally different from visual actors. Just because you can act on stage doesn't automatically mean you can act in a soundbooth.

Did Jonze buy the AV Club staff a houseboat?
I don't understand why this got the review it did.
