Interesting, i will definitely have to check him out sometime

Agreed. I've been thinking about this a lot lately with the current run of Daredevil: Soule is doing a great job, which is not easy considering that he's following the greatest Daredevil run of all time (that's right, I said it).

Ditko is still my favorite Spidey artist. If nothing else, he drew some of the best fight scenes of all time. Hell, he even made the Enforcers awesome.

I really like Autumnlands, it's a fun book that doesn't seem to get that much attention.

Why Adam Warlock? He was in one of the very first comics I read as a kid, but I know practically nothing about him.

I'm almost done with Seveneves. I love it, it's maybe my new favorite Neal Stephenson book. The last section has been a bit of a slog, since he gets carried away with the explanations (even by his standards) and it takes him 200 pages to come to the point.

Ugh, I liked a lot of Pillars of the Earth, but that guy sort of ruined it for me. His first big scene was so shocking and brutal, but then the exact same thing happens 6 or 7 times (I literally lost count), each having significantly less impact than the one before.

Super Mario Bluto

That could be a great "It's Always Sunny" episode: The Gang Joins a Cover Band

Fair point. "Batman's personality when he's not wearing his cowl" then?

Sounds good. I second the idea of sticking to the library-friendly classics, especially at the start.

I don't know about the other New Mutants, but it should be illegal for anyone but Sienkewicz to draw Warlock.

New Gods = Kirby (of course)
Spider-Man = Steve Ditko
Silver Surfer = Mike Allred

I go back and forth on my opinion of Snyder's run, but I do like that a lot of it has been trying to give Bruce Wayne an actual personality, beyond humorless, hyper-focused, and paranoid.

Once upon a time, I would have argued with you that Batman is the best because he was a regular person* who made himself more than human through ingenuity and sheer determination. I once read an interview with Denny O'Neil where he said he loved Batman because he represents "the perfectibility of human nature", and I

Gravity is a harsh mistress.

I'm the same way with Superman. Growing up I thought he was kind of lame, but now I appreciate that his most important power is being an inspiration to others. All-Star Superman changed my opinion of him 100%.

I'll say Daredevil. I'm always inspired by his ability to remain a (relatively) sane and decent person in the face of the unending river of crap that has been his life since grade school. Also, I would argue that Daredevil's books probably have the best good-to-bad ratio of anyone out there.

They're not just bland, there's something really "uncanny valley" about them. Whenever I see that show, I like to pretend I'm in an episode of Orphan Black.

I don't have cable either, but every time I go to the dentist, Property Brothers is on their TV, and I'm fascinated by it. But not in a good way, though. More like trying to figure out what planet they came from, and what they think of us.
