I don't think so.  I know that's what you're supposed to assume at first, but when Jesse says that he had the special cigarette in the morning when he switched packs I'm pretty sure you're supposed to believe it.

true, the plan didn't work but it was a pretty shitty plan to even be tried in the first place, and the fact that they did try it, and that so much fell into place that it even came close to working requires a pretty big suspension of disbelief.

I really like all three of their albums.  If it wasn't for the singer's distinctive voice they would sound like they came from three different bands.

To be fair though, not a lot of the second album would translate that well to a live setting.  (Granted, 'Mama' could work)
