Having just watched season five, I have been reflecting on what I consider the greatest and most tragic "what if" of the Sopranos universe: the loss of Fairuza Balk after the end of season three. Balk, a wonderful and compelling young actress, played Agent Deborah Ciccerone in the season three finale Army of One.

The most interesting storyline of this episode is barely mentioned in the above analysis.

I've just watched this episode, and I think the program's long-term arc in which Melfi's therapy is argued to enable Tony's sociopathy (which is raised in season 2 and is resolved in the last episodes) is superbly supported here.
