Can't agree -but both are exceptionally bad episodes - Without spoiling it for the reviewer, 'Fascination' A:/ features both Bareil and Lwaxana Troi & B/ features scene after scene that just comes off as risible: Sisko/Dax, Quark/Keiko, Bashir/Kira -even Rene Auberjonois can't salvage it. I agree Meridian is tedious

Zack- Best brace yourself for next week if you thought 'Meridian' was the nadir of the season! No spoilers intended!

Fair enough, and reading it through a second time I concede you do have a point. Also, you seem to be arguing (and forgive me if this is a misinterpretation), that for any person coming to Babylon 5 for the very first time, 'Voice' acts as a good introduction, which it would be. I would still classify 'Signs and

Yep -Agree with the Grades posted here -Not a huge fan of Captain Ellis Pierce (Ron Canada maybe getting in practice for DS9's 'Rules of Engagement' ) and prefer John Schuck to Louis Turenne. No way for me that this can be A 'B' whilst 'By any Means' comes in at A- a true WTF? However to avoid getting hung up on Grades would it be worth adopting either the Zack Handlen approach to DS9 with no Grades or the Murray/ Handlen approach of earlier seasons of X Files :Essential/Ok/missable

Cannot believe I missed the reviews of this initially. Pretty accurate summaries -Couple of points. The Minbari ceremony in Parliament has a great degree of resonance in light of what happens to the Sinclair character. Otherwise, 'Parliament' I remember as the First episode I ever saw of the series -the G'Kar B story

Fantastic reviews, especially of 'The Wire', which was undoubtedly one of the series best episodes. To emphasis how bad 'Profit and Loss' was, even Andrew Robinson couldn't salvage it. I won't spoil Season 4 for you but watch out for one episode so atrocious it is unquestionably Robinson's nadir in the series' entire

I actually thought that Profit and Loss was one of the weakest entries of season 2, arguably only surpassed by 'Second Sight', or possibly 'Rivals' or 'Melora' as the seasons low point. The lack if chemistry between Quark and Lang makes those scenes almost eyes-shut cringeworthy, and the subplot involving the

In another Classic instalment (Spoiler alert) -Necessary evil'

'The Forsaken', whilst by no means the finest DS9 outing ever, is certainly far from being an objectionable outing, especially compared (sorry,Zack) with subsequent Deep Space Nine episodes featuring Lwaxana Troi. Rene Auberjonois is, as usual excellent, and the scene where Lwaxana loses her brooch is great: 'If you

There is frankly, no comparison between the First season of TNG and it's DS9 counterpart. As Zack points out, they'd learned a lot from the travails in Season 1 (and to a degree Season 2) of that and the direction is far slicker. The great thing about the series, as you rightly point out, is that references, even from
