Dogville is my favorite of his. If you enjoyed Dancer in the Dark and The Element of Crime, then there's a good chance you'll enjoy Dogville. It's a nice little morality play that speaks to the actual world but takes place in an artificially constructed world.
But as always with von Trier, the people who dislike

I'm with you vanDammit. I was surprised to find on a recent board that some people found it unfunny.

Jim Jimmerson: I'm sure that's true; I was hoping someone could cite one of those older texts. I don't buy that it would be self evident. It's obvious why I won't allow X to fuck my wife. It's less obvious why I shouldn't fuck X's wife. I suspect you'd need legislation for that.

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas…

WTF?
I was born in 1980; the first Dylan release on my radar was Time Out Of Mind. Strangely enough, it's nice to finally get a release which makes no sense.

You shall love your fellow as yourself.

This might be counter-intuitive but I'd suggest The Boss Of It All. If you dig his brand of sadism, then you'll pick up on it and want to check out his more dramatic stuff. But if you find it revolting, then you'll probably still find the movie funny.

I was already a fan when the The Royal Albert Hall concert got an official release. So while it wasn't a gateway for me, it is my all time favorite album.

Jon Hamm was in S3, E5. It wasn't much of a role though, nor was it one of the better episodes, in my opinion.

I'm in love with season 4. Rory is at her hottest, the Luke/Lorelai storyline reaches the top of its bell curve and Chris Eigeman is pretty much the shit.

@Jim Jimmerson
That's a good call on Frankie Lee and Judas Priest. It doesn't even have any of Bob's great rhymes. My favorite rhyme of his, for some unknown reason, is 'January' and 'Buenos Aries' in The Groom's Still Waiting at the Altar.
Oh, and I'm still waiting for the word that rhymes with 'orange'.

Thirded.
"Well I guess we all fit in to your slogan on that fast food marquee. Red Blooded, White Skinned, and the Blues. Oh, and the blues, I've got the blues- that's me."
It sounds better than it reads, I guess.

Lifted has some of my favorite and least favorite Bright Eyes.

I love Z and Wide Awake. I also have plenty of love for Digital Ash.

and who shall I save?

Mifune in I Live in Fear is one of his only performances that I enjoyed outside of the samurai films. I rewatched Stray Dog and Rashomon this weekend and each time I was looking forward to the fun of watching Mifune ham it up. But both times I came away more impressed with Takashi Shimura. That guy was such a

The movie on that Eclipse set that really got to me was I Live In Fear.

Ran
Throne of Blood
Rashomon
Seven Samurai
Yojimbo
Kagemusha
The Lower Depths
The Hidden Fortress
Sanjuro
Ikiru

Yojimbo/Sanjuro is great stuff but I'd put it behind Ran, Throne of Blood, Rashomon and Seven Samurai. I think Kurosawa can be split into his samurai movies and his contemporary movies. I love all the samurai stuff; the contemporary stuff- not so much. Everyone seems to love (the contemporary) Ikiru though I'd rank it

I've just picked up a fault in the AE35 unit. It's going to go 100% *failure* in 72 hours.
Processing, processing.
That should read *success*; it can only be attributable to human error.
