Trans Europe Express sounds amazing. Really, all Kraftwerk still sounds like the music of the future, somehow.

Id didn't take long for G2G to take on the subject I get geekiest about.
Also, let's do an Italian prog feature next. I want to talk about Goblin and Il Balletto Di Bronzo!
This is really such a wide genre, you can choose a path suited to your individual tastes. Do you like pretty ambience? Go get some Cluster and Popul Vuh and Tangerine Dream. Looking to rock? Get some Amon Duul and Nektar. Want some berzerk shit? Pick up Grobschnitt and Faust and Xhol Caravan. And if you just…
Not sure if this is a sincere comment, but Kraut isn't the most PC thing to call a German.
Faust IV
I dunno…Tago Mago was actually the album I introduced myself to Krautrock with, and I found it way too hookless and digressive. A great album, but not so good for the uninitiated, in my opinion.
But I do agree with Tasha, the story doesn't hold up as well as the music
Now I'm listening to this. I'm hearing you want more relateable pop songs, and more funny songs. But that side of this band never impressed me. Thank God there's no "Chimbley Sweep" here.
SWEET
Nice to see an AV talk about a noteworthy album!
I haven't listened to this yet, but I can say I'm strongly pro-Hazards. "Picaresque" and "Crane Wife" Decemberists had it's moments, but always came off a little cheesy and ersatz. This one takes their incredible EP "The Tain" and expands on it, and fully pulls…
I call bullshit
OK, OK, I know the backlash against late Simpsons has gone on so long, there's that contrarian impulse to go against the backlash…but you're reaching. I've seen like half these episodes, and they're all seriously awful. And none of the plot descriptions or "classic quotes" for the ones I haven't seen…
I don't know this Band
…but I like the songs you supplied. I would have gone for Sloan first. Weezer also, though that straddles the line between power-pop and modern rock.
Thief
Backdrifts????
I like Hail to the Chief more than the average Radiohead fan, but still…At least say "A Wolf at the Door"
Itunes decides ties alphabetically.
Oh shit! Yeah. Jesus Etc.
This is a stupid question
Most of these picks are either overly hip or overly nostalgic, as in "I loved this song in high school so it's my favorite song!" Whatever. "Once in a Lifetime" is a legit answer, but a little too predictable. And I just don't like Tom Petty.
You can make an argument for a Henson picture, and a few other "kids" animation movies. But it's tough to justify calling a $100 mil picture a film with a "cult following".
I was wondering the same thing about Wizards.
ANIMATION!!!!!!
If you are still determining…I think Waking Life is a must.
Also from this decade, The Triplets of Belleville?
Heavy Metal
Then, something by Miyazaki. That's a pretty good month.
A little perspective:
To date, according to Box Office Mojo, the only true blockbusters involving female action heroes are T2 (they probably didn't all flock to see Sarah Connor), Lara Croft 1, Charlie's Angels 1&2 (not really superhero action), and Alien 1&2. These are followed by the Kill Bills which both grossed…
