Im still hoping for Futurama references in the future, honestly. Especially since both the showrunners for The Simpsons and Futurama consider it somewhat canon. That and I just cant get enough of crossovers. But that's a conversation to have with someone who liked that episode.

I saw it as a generalised statement for cartoons. That's probably why we have different opinions on this.

A regular episode out of over 552. Even 2 episodes this season doesnt remotely make anything close to a trend or standard. Especially since crossovers are accepted to be allowed to break the formula.

I'm not convinced. We see a point in things we like. We see the "thing"

That was a great line. Nostalgia is so strong for a lot of people nowadays. Though you don't notice it until you're on a super nostalgic Fanbase. like Pokemon.

Pretty much.

Trying something new is pretty much what Simpsons fans want the least.

I think people are caring too much about continuity and the change in "mood" in what is clearly a one episode aside that will not define the show's approach to reality at all.

The review was just "there's so many good gags, but look at this episode from season 7. There, understand why it's bad?"

" don't let that get in the way of enjoying what's there."

Meh. Nobody cares about the "point" or a lack of it until we can use it to knock something we don't like. There's probably tonnes of classic moments that are equally pointless.

I liked it, because I don't have that wierd contempt for pop songs that plague the worst Facebook comment sections.

I disagree, mainly because the whole "this is why people who still like the show are wrong" vibe I get that reminds me of the more annoying YouTube comments. Also because I just still like the gags. Even after I got to see a tonne of older episodes because of FXX.

This should have been in this year's Treehouse of Horror and the Simpsons meet original Simpsons episode should have been the full episode.

there's been some better episodes this season imo.

It's a bit odd this episode seemed to invalidate the rest of the season. It was mostly goodwill to a fine season and now after this the show hasn't been good since [insert year]

True, the dynamics havent changed much for Gumball, compared to the other shows, just how it does things. It doesnt help that between season one and two a lot of people changed voice actors or personalities as the show decided what exactly they were gonna do with them. For me though, I just enjoyed pretty much every

Bobby is pretty much Regular Sized Rudy so that's a given. Bob and Hank would probably hate each other at first. They're pretty much the same, personality wise except Bob's more liberal and Hank is more conservative.

Francine is definitely my favourite animated wife in that group. She does form a similar role as Linda, often being just as crazy as everyone else. The George Clooney episode being the first thing that comes to mind.

I agree it gets redundant, but B- is more "enjoyable, with flaws" rather than "mediocre and middling."
