I'm not delusional at all. The bill of rights are the conditions the states agreed to federalize under in the first place. Yes, states would leave in real actual life if any element of the bill of rights was repealed. You'd be able to watch the proceedings on MSNBC in disbelief.

It turns out well regulated in old timey colonial-speak means "Well equipped" so that in itself isn't a great argument. The good argument is of course the government can regulate firearms, because we won't let you build an atomic bomb, or own a heavy machine gun while you're in prison.

No it hasn't. More amendments have been added to the constitution. But none of the ten amendments that comprise the bill of rights has ever been repealed or even had their language changed.

The bill of rights is what gives our government legitimacy to govern. You don't get to chop rights out of it that you find inconvenient. That's the whole freedom thing that people are always carrying on about.
