He'd like the money they give him, probably.

They've done Shirley such a major disservice this entire season. They took away her family for no real reason, and then make her peripheral to pretty much all the episodes.

C+

That was…okay? This whole two-parter felt incredibly half-assed and rushed. Good lord, I hope this is not how the series ends. With them walking back from any emotional development in favor of everyone dancing to some DMB.

Boom! Titleburn!

You know, I don't need MORE stuff with Woody Allen as a creepy oversexual guy.

"The show even ropes in musical comedy (as Alison takes part in a stage production and Maslany proves she can sing and dance) "

Maybe the weirdest "And Introducing" credit I've seen is Rob Lowe getting one for his first episode of Parks and Recreation.

So how 'bout that Fargo, huh?

I could watch Burn After Reading any day. Fargo and Big Lebowski have been kinda overdone for me because they're such cultural touchstones. I love No Country For Old Men, but it's a little too dour and grim. This is the part where I admit those movies + Raising Arizona are all the Coen Brothers movies I've seen.

I've loved it ever since it came out, and I'm completely baffled by its overall lukewarm reception.

My favorite Coens movie is Burn After Reading. The premise of the TV adaptation is this: every week, JK Simmons receives reports of fucked up farces going on in America, and we get to watch them play out. The end of each episode is 3 minutes of JK Simmons summarizing what we learned. Most weeks, it's nothing.

This seems to be almost Hannibal levels of "this is such a bad idea" omens turning into "THIS SHOW IS SO GREAT"

That's just a special actor-y credit you get before the "And" credit. You kinda have to give that to the guy that's starring in the second Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Well, goddamn. That was REALLY great. Are we sure there's 10 episodes of this, though? Cause it sure seemed like that escalated real quickly.

To be fair, the Report has its share of "I'm here to plug a movie" guests, and they only have one guest slot 4 nights a week to fill.

Real Estate is a band that is entirely influenced by bands I love, and on paper they SHOULD be a band I love, but they managed to make music without any energy or drive whatsoever. It's the audio equivalent of a light afternoon nap.

WAIT…wait. Annie Clark as bandleader is…too good an idea?
