For some reason, I'm always surprised when a serious drama is on IFC. They've quickly become a channel solely for great comedy for me.

"Experimental Film" is still my favorite They Might Be Giants song, mostly because of the Homestar Runner music video for it, produced by Strong Sad.

I would buy both that and that Blake Schwarzenbach still thinks "On the Road" is totally mindblowing.

But you never have and never will kill a cop.  That just sounds like some lame-ass posturing to me.

Gotta roll my eyes at the "killing cops and reading Kerouac" line every time.  Actively enjoyed when John Darnielle changed the line to "watching COPS and reading Didion".

I don't know if anyone's saying he's not an insanely talented songwriter.  He's just a shitty person.

McCartney wrote "Jet", Lennon wrote "Instant Karma".  It's a wash for me.

It's not one word, but I've always thought "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" is the mission statement of The Wire.  It sums up McNulty, Stringer, and Carcetti.
