Well, this sounds perfect.  I'll pay any price to see Superchunk, and fuck yes the Hold Steady.  Neko Case and Aimee Mann/Ted Leo's thing are wonderful cherries on top.

I'm calling bullshit on the HER being the worst one.  The "Loose Seal" thing in the first episode caused me to yell "oh, FUCK YOU" at my TV and I wanted to turn it off.

Kim was in it, for like 4 seconds, on John Beard's celebrity chat show.

Wiig was incredible, but Rogen was miscast.  Wiig did a great impression of Jessica Walter, but Rogen just couldn't hack it.  His voice is far too well known, he couldn't come anywhere close to matching Jeffrey Tambor's, well, timbre.

Mallory regularly kills people in cold blood.  Lucille's just a shitty rich person.

I loved that every single Richter was represented, even Emmett!

Who drew the short straw and had to sit down Justin Wade Grant and go "okay, just so you know, half the lines in your scenes are about how fucking awful you look."

After finishing it, I really think they started off with the worst episode.

I thought all the episodes were at least interesting from a plot and character perspective.  Some of them just weren't funny.

This is also because Mitch Hurwitz and Troy Miller directed every episode.  Mitch Hurwitz is not a director and Troy Miller is a shitty person.  The key directors of the original run were the Russo Brothers, who now work on Community, and Paul Feig of Freaks and Geeks, who probably directed a third of all the episodes.

The Ron Howard stuff gave me an aneurysm trying to figure it out.  So is The Narrator The Narrator, or is The Narrator Ron Howard who now has to refer to himself in the third person?

We don't have to avoid spoilers here, right?  I'll be cagey just in case.  You know that thing that happened to one of the Lucilles near the end of the season?  Gene Parmesean totally did it, right?

I will never get tired of Tony Wonder giddily whispering his magic secrets to people.

The trailer looked hilarious, and I really like all 3 of the leads, but man I just did not like The Hangover at all.  I wanted to!  I just couldn't.

This show's okay.  Maron's the worst part of it.  Louis C.K. is actually pretty strong as an actor, especially because a big part of the show is him doing actual stand-up, whereas Marc Maron's constantly distracting me with how bad an actor he is.

Not to say that criticism should be banned, but there are some shows that in my mind, most criticism just kinda bounces off of.  The three that I think personify this most are The Flop House, the Best Show on WFMU, and My Brother My Brother and Me.  Even if there's an admittedly lesser episode, I just get so much

I think the core difference between HDTGM and the Flop House is that the Get Made crew are all performers, and the Flop House people are all writers, save for Stuart, who's his own man.  How Did This Get Made is pure spectacle in WHOA THIS IS CRAZY!!! and the Flop House gets into the meat of why the parts in the movie

Don't forget excellent new albums from The Men, Mikal Cronin, Nick Cave, Phoenix, Queens of the Stone Age (i've heard it, yeah it's excellent), Telekinesis, Thee Oh Sees, The Thermals, Wavves, and Yo La Tengo.  Supposedly we're getting new Arcade Fire this year, and Modest Mouse might be finishing their new record

The two serve the other.  His ego continues to reach new heights, which causes his music to get even better, which then causes his ego to reach even higher heights.

If they're willing to record this and put it on iTunes, I'm willing to buy it.  That's the deal, Armisen!
