Who's English @avclub-1401bbefb8fff01cdcf9c9aa42f87184:disqus ? The anonymous Texas woman?
I don't know. They never showed me the script.
"Oh shit, it's that squeaky hack Mickey Mouse. No thanks, buddy, if I wanted to watch vermin cavorting I'd go see the new James Cagney film."
God, I had a weird dream last night. I had to guest star in some kind of Law And Order show. The bastards didn't give me a script but I really needed the money and I wasn't naked from the waist down.
See post above yours for clue.
Quick! Make the same comment on both pages! You already have? Thank Goodness.
It's like One Million Years BC round here. But this time the pterodactyl wins.
So are we saying that Drake's finally released a quacker of an album?
Any woman would have fallen in love with Robert Donat in 39 Steps. What's much harder to understand is the same thing happening in the Kenneth More remake. He's supposed to be all bluff and hearty, like a steak and ale pie on legs, but he's just an insufferable bore. Terrible film, even worse than the Robert Powell…
It's possible. There again, after Usual Suspects I really wanted to like him in something else, but it never happened. Bad actors can peak with one really great performance, then go back to being rubbish. After nearly 20 years I don't think the jury can still out on Baldwin. He's just shit at his job.
I'm still one of Smiley's people. It's a fine album if you can ignore the weight of history it wears. There's good stuff on every Beach Boys album up until at least the mid '70's.
I don't know. Do you fucking hate The Beach Boys?
It's kind of you to deliver these copies of Jugs. They'll keep Mr Teas from resorting to homosexuality. For about 10 minutes.
If only Elegant Victorian Lady were here to berate Ratner for his show of ungentlemanliness.
There's a long chat to be had about shitty last films preceded by really good ones. Being There/Fu Manchu is probably the biggest gap quality wise, but the first one I always think of is Tom Horn/The Hunter.
I realise the article can't mention every folk band, but Traffic were my gateway and they're not too hey-nonny-no either. It just seems a glaring oversight.
Where does Traffic stand in all of this? Is John Barleycorn a bit too folk rock? I'd recommend having a listen to Catherine Howe as well, her first album got re-issued by Numero a short time ago and it's gorgeous.
Irish folk. Very different.
I want to believe.
