just awful implants too…ice cream scoops like 6 inches apart.

the national + elijah craig neat = a pretty swell evening

amen.

er…drumming.

steve - not to bash your review…but i'm stunned that you fail to mention yet another virtuoso performance by bryan devendorf. he does more with a 5-piece kit than anyone in recent memory…and earns his nickname: "the dumming jesus".

"so how could your hair
have the nerve to dance around like that, blowing
and how could the air
have the nerve to blow your hair around like that"

a couple from the new one:

kids of the wealthy are raised by the poor
you send daughters to los angelos and new york
i need mine to see me
when i wake up
i need mine to know
that im what they come to
when they come home

alligator>high violet>boxer>>sad songs for dirty lovers>the national

yeah…that's pretty much when it hits you that your life is even more disappointing than your father told you it was.

love to hear that review…i got tix for d.c. on june 6! they're in the big hall this time around…seen them twice at 930 club…so it will be interesting to see how they handle the bigger stage.

i think, as hayden points out, that the subject of the national's music is fairly narrow…but it's right in my sweet spot.

giamatti's character is a miserable douche.

sideways is pretty fucking intolerable.

i think i'm gonna agree with best of the decade…

my 9-yr old son would not come within a mile of this movie — and that's the "problem" in trying to compare a princess movie with a pixar flick…the target for this movie is girls 12- and under.

@banmar - you're a pretty indulgent mother fucker ain't ya?

'79 toyota celica - bought in '85 for $2400. had about 60k miles when i bought it…drove it 'til it died with 180k miles in '92.

'things i don't want' was a great line!

i'd hit that one golden girl. you know the one. you'd hit it too right.
