I'm not saying people who brew their own beer aren't the worst, but is that really illegal?

Honestly, Martha, I think that song sounds awful as well. It's just the "Yoko broke up the Beatles" trope is tired and ignorant and the goddamn fucking credo for the music industry boy's club. I didn't express it well, but I am able to separate the  "this track sounds like shit and I don't like her music" comments

Oh come on. The "Yoko broke  up the Beatles" thing is the first word in rock 'n' roll's long history of misogyny and discounting the artistic output of women. The Beatles broke up because they were sick of each other, had different artistic aspirations, and were high as kites. You can not like Ono's music or visual

Are all the commenters on this board doing the "Yoko broke up the Beatles" thing ironically? Because I thought this idea had been pretty soundly been proven idiotic.  Are you really saying John Lennon was so feeble-minded that he fell under the spell of a "talentless hack" woman and stopped being able to make his own

"I can still hear you saying you would never break my chain, my chain, don't you like my chain…"

But also not one of his favourite actors because she doesn't fit into either category he's outlined? It reads to me like "You're a neuter and not a good actor". A straight up insult. Oh well. Tennessee Williams sounds like a bit of a dick.

R.I.P. lady. Now would someone mind explaining to me the "compliment" part of that "backhanded compliment" bit?

This sums it up perfectly. I can't figure out why a guy I agree with irks me so much- Todd's not an idiot, clearly, but the tortured ledes,  neurotic overanalysis, and slobbering over light entertainment make him unreliable and not credible as a reviewer for me.

Yes. I lost it there. And the Mets, too. The worst team in baseball at that time. Poor Lane.

Did anyone else cheer when Cosgrove told Roger he didn't want to be partner because of what they'd done to Joan? Or, now that I think of it, was he saying he wasn't prepared to make the type of sacrific Joan made. Either way,  <3 U, Dave Algonquin.
