Jive Talkin's definitely the best thing they ever did.  That warped intro, in 15 seconds, achieved more white funkiness than the Red Hot Chili Peppers have mustered in three decades of trying.

It only seems like that because a third of the way in, Idiocracy stops being a comedy and becomes the most terrifyingly prescient sci-fi film ever made.

Bag of Hammers: Leonard Pierce's gripping adaptation of the final novel in the "Song of Fire and Ice" saga.

Why is "having a fetish for black women" included in your list of negatives?

It's a good thing this isn't one of those "Gay Test" demotivational posters. If it was, I'd have some bad news for you fellows…

I'm pretty sure crack is what she would have wanted.

Maybe they just didn't like Gilliam. In Blood In, Blood Out, one of the main characters shot up heroin while Hendrix's version of "Little Wing" played in the background. Or I might be making that up, it's been a while since I watched it.

I must say (because I'm a pedantic prick), that is the weirdest placement of an in-text hyperlink I've ever seen. "in"? That's all the video merited, I guess…?

Edward Blake. Moloch. Deaths related? Must investigate.

I've more or less come to terms with the fact that *BWAAAAAMP* trailers aren't going anyway any time soon, but the ones in the Battleship trailer seem especially egregious, somehow. There's never been a time where I've seen that trailer and didn't feel a headache coming on afterward.

I was extremely impressed by the handling of Loki, who can be a tricky (no pun intended) character to navigate. I admit I was skeptical of him being the big bad before the film came out; as much as I enjoyed Tom Hiddleston's turn in Thor, a lot of his performance was helped by the overall Shakespearean vibe with which

Counterpoint: I was watching her chest very closely and saw no cards there.

All I could think after the post credits scene was, "I want more now, please." And yes, Hulk punching Thor out of the blue was the best part of the movie.

The "'turn-back-time' redux" was nothing of the kind. Donner & company chose to use that ending for the first Superman when it was running behind schedule. They never got a chance to come up with a different ending for Part II because the Salkinds had this assclown waiting in the wings throughout the production for A)

Excellent narration on the Elvis '56 documentary as well. I swear I'd buy an album of him just telling stories for an hour with that dry Arkansas ramble of his. RIP sir.

With the exception of Roger Taylor, I'd say that's accurate.

Did I miss something? Isn't it "Ginsberg"?

Why is it that, across the board, TV creators seem more over-sensitive and pretentious as a whole than filmmakers? Is it the extra hours they have to put in? Added pressure? Is it the fact that they have to dedicate so much of their personal and professional lives to one project over the long term that they lose

What happened to the darker-toned childrens' movies of yore, anyway? People got capped left and right in '80s kid flicks. Shit happened. I love those pre-PG-13 glory years.

Excellent, I knew we could work a mention of Community in here somehow.
