Built For Greed

Yep, good ol' made-in-the-2000's Red Dawn.

Say what you will about the film itself, but the actors deserve a lot of credit for taking a few risks with the material, especially Amy Smart. That woman seems to be up for doing anything in a movie (see the Crank series). I wonder if she'd ever consider pulling a Sevigny?

I actually liked "Unbreakable" better than any of his other pictures, and not just because it's ostensibly about a superhero. Great subdued work from Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson gives one of his rare understated performances, the kid (same kid from Gladiator, I think) was good, and Robin Wright Penn was actually

No Room For "Postal"?
That movie was so bad I wanted to go back in time and kill Uwe Boll's mother while he was still in the womb.

What's red and blue and flies around really fast?

CHIWETEL EJIOFOR IN SERENITY.

You know nothing. In fact, you know less than nothing. I mean, if you knew you knew nothing then that would be something, but you don't.

Dr. No. From Russia With Love. Goldfinger. The Hill. The Anderson Tapes. Outland. The Wind & The Lion. Robin & Marian. The 1st Highlander. Name of the Rose. Untouchables. Last Crusade. The Hunt For Red October. A Good Man in Africa. The Rock.

"Ninja Ass…boast[s] sexual content…be[tween] even blood…relat[ed] loving adults… [T]he ratings board might go…into an art film in which a woman receives oral sex [,] no problem[.] [A] protagonist who spends…time…tear[ing] through flesh like a knife through butter. Ninja Ass…is ostensibly a vehicle for pop star

I meant in the sense that it's poorly written, poorly acted nonsense complete with illogical plot, made to cater to the lowest common denominator and having little-to-nothing to do with either actual ninjas or the ninjas from movies, I grew up watching and enjoying… and I'm still gonna see it twice.

Thanks. I actually wanted to make this avatar when I registered, but I was too lazy to photoshop.

"Handsomely mounted, tastefully dull HBO TV movie"
RKO 281 was just such a movie concerning young Orson Welles while making Citizen Kane, and it was anything but dull and over-reverent. Just because a movie's released theatrically doesn't mean it can't suck ass worse than a TV production.

I was hoping
…this would be the best big-budget movie since The Thing to just end on a completely bleak note. Ah, well.

This is to martial arts movie fans
…what Twilight is to vampire lovers. I'm not ashamed to admit it. I know this is crap, and I'll still see it twice.

Wasted
Jesus, how did Garp and Tony Manero come to this?

I'll politely disagree and half-agree, respectively. That was actually the first movie I saw Danny Huston in, and I thought he was rather effective. And I probably got the better end of the deal because I never read the comic on which it was based, but I thought the whole movie was very well done. It had a real

Irving Berlin.

If a movie was ever made
…out of The Gone-Away World, this guy should direct.

I don't think I've seen Danny Huston be bad in anything I've seen him in. Not even fucking Wolverine.

Honest Mistake
Maybe the guy thought she was an anaconda.
