Yeah, their expressions were pretty blatant. That scene, and the later one with Naomi and Fred, were good at showing the difference between Fred & Drummer's pragmatism and Holden's starry-eyed optimism that people want the best for Everyone.

Well, the novella has Epstein not being a charismatic person, really just a nerd with a wife with the drive to free Mars. Sam Huntington seems like he would be that nerdy guy who was puttering with an idea and accidentally changed the solar system and killed himself.
