Both of you… on to the guillotine.

For people wondering if they should see the first two before this one.

The first one-third of season two is really great.

It's no longer one of my absolute favorite comedies on TV, but it still keeps me entertained. And compared to Modern Family it's peak Arrested Development.

These are all things we've been told before. I don't feel any new insight, just things that were once subtle being made louder and more aggravating. But yes, Don has been a pretty stale character in m eyes since season five.

I've thought every flashback post season two has been pretty useless. Ultimately, I think it's a matter of whether you're still invested in Don and in how he came to be. I prefer The Sopranos' approach to dealing with bastard man at its center. It just embraced it. Sometimes it made fun of Tony. Sometimes it

When you're guesting on any show, no matter how high profile and respected it is, getting a consistent job out of it is a privilege. It doesn't matter what network it's on. It's not typical for actors with smaller roles in acclaimed shows to go on to stardom or to even go on to getting usual work. Also, while it's

The thing is Gg audience was always widespread. It's a multi-generational series with a lead in their mid-30's, which was very unusual for that network. Had it been on any other network the notion that it was a teen show wouldn't have existed.

Lauren Graham was nominated for a Golden Globe and two SAG awards. She was probably the closest to getting an Emmy nod out of any actor from the WB.

Gilmore girls was around when shows like Ally McBeal, Desperate Housewives, Ed, Sex and the City and Sports Night were getting nominated for/winning Emmys. It was the perfect Emmy show. It was a comedy-drama with a wide range of appeal. Being on the WB was the one and only reason it never got rec.

Considering that season one is my favorite season the set of reviews were disappointingly shallow, but I expect them to improve from here on out.

Someone criticizing what you love is not a personal attack on you. I know people feel very close to the TV they love. I know I do, but I wasn't sitting around bitching. I offhandedly mentioned season four being my least favorite. Someone replied then more and eventually we were going back and forth. I've defended some

Peggy had nothing to do in the second half of the season. Roger's supposed arc was minor at most. He had more substantial material in seasons five and three.

Yes, Don had an arc, but no one else did. I know I'm in the minority when it comes to season four, but I've re-watched the season a couple of times now, and it just gets weaker for me whenever I return. I remember being stunned by the acclaim. Betty became a one-note villain. I started to lose interest in Don and his

I think the original Godfather is substantially better than the sequel. I'm not a big fan of the Dark Knight series. But I'll give you lethal Weapon 2.

Season three is my weakest season after season four. Season four had no direction, a lack momentum and was low on great episodes. None of season four's episodes are in my top fifteen of the series. Season three is the show's most bi-polar season. There are some really strangely executed and dull episodes in there (The

This was an entertaining episode. It was giddy and abrupt. It had sort of a first half of season four vibe (though I think season four is overall the weakest season of the series the first half is somewhat inspired in its mood). There was a lot of situating the dots that will connected later. It's like the writers

A whole new season? Nah. But Dan writing an hour long wrap up finale would be nice.

You're right that the show was pretty much a well made family drama with some quirk in its first season and wasn't yet full on colorful and eccentric. But I don't see the rest of the show as being more of itself. I think it evolved as it went along, but I still see it all as Gilmore girls. Even its two best seasons

What I'm not getting is the overall indifference to season one around here. After the first few episodes the debut for me is the most consistently satisfying season. I think some let the character evolutions in future seasons mar what they feel about this one. Dean may not be very interesting, but he hasn't become an
