Fiona Apple was the one that didn't love the Jon Brion version of Extraordinary Machine and wanted t re-do them. And she was right. It was mess (an intriguing, high quality mess but still a mess).

Maybe something having to do Veronica's missing mother. It'll probably be a personal mystery to give the movie some gravity. Then again, I wouldn't mind if it felt like a longer, well executed episode.

I don't know. I'm not expecting much but a cute Nancy Drew type mystery peppered with quips. That would probably satisfy me. And the format of show really fits a 2-hour format. The only way I see this not being at least okay is if there's an attempt to please the entire fan base.

Ehh with the internet's ridiculous wide-eyes for Joss. This series only had a few memorable installments. The Avengers was bland and disjointed. I'm not even gonna admit that I think Firefly is just fun cheese at best. (Trolling!)

I love me some David Sims or whatever, but why couldn't we get a reviewer that hasn't watched the show? Or are there none of those people left at the AV Club?

Because those are the shows it's competing with at award shows. I think this season of Girls is more Emmy worthy than any of those several shows, shows that get a lot of love around. I was just trying to clarify that I wasn't a Girls hater.

Have they shown Chad Michael Murray's butt yet?

Girls started off with solid reviews, nothing wow, no one declaring it
the future best thing on TV. Even after is first season concluded the
hype wasn't over the top. It wasn't until months later that people were
starting to use far too much hyperbole while discussing the show. And with those Golden Globe wins the

Yes, the show has bored me since season four, though it still manages some nice moments here and there.

Girls is a solid show. No one can take that away from it. Right now, I think it's better than Parks and Recreation or Community or Raising Hope- sitcoms I used to love. I'd even argue that this season of Girls is almost as good as season three of Louie. (Then again, I thought Louie's third season was an overall step

I usually just skip over to the seasons' best offerings post-April. I wouldn't dare watch season six and seven in their entirety. Also, the very first episode April appears in is one of the show's best.

I was speaking of Queen Fiona, but I suspect Marnie has as many daddy issues as Marnie has mommy issue.

I roooot for you-ooo-ooo. Damn, I love that crazy woman.

Yeah, well, there's that. There's also the drivel that's supposed to stand for dialogue, an abundance of wistful looks, the uninteresting romantic entanglements, plenty of sad scenes in bathrooms and the white people- the white people. Did I mention I am semi-fan of both shows?

This is where Girls became Tell Me You Love Me (except even more whiny, self-indulgent, artless and derivative. I'm a semi fan of both shows BTW).

Uhhh, are we now obligated to kiss Justin's flat, smooth arse? (I mean metaphorically of course since we should all be so lucky…) This was a pretty mediocre installment with a couple of bright spots. It was not on the level of the last couple of episodes he hosted or comparable to Martin Short and Christoph Waltz's

None of those things you do would contradict being gay.

The second half of season seven is watchable and contains a couple of gem episodes. However, even the second half is rarely more than just okay. The first half of the season is an annoying snoozefest. Overall, I'd take season six for its peak episodes.

I included it on my best episodes ever list down the thread.
