Right up there with "Stride of Pride" as my season's best. Good shit right here. Please, 30 Rock end Modern Family's ungodly run at the Emmys.

Homeland is a character drama and thriller first. Its politics is usually on the rim. Being ridiculous is the nature of many great dramas. Boss' problem was that it didn't seem to care about it's characters or its plotting. It only wanted to shock and scandalize.

The sometimes silly mawkishness of the drama was much easier to swallow based off of the strength of the characters. Like with any series presenting an engaging, diverse cast of characters makes the plot road less bumpy. That's especially true with TWW, which is mostly made up of people walking around the White House…

I love Joy, and she could be sweet, but that overall dynamic doesn't work for this show. It's also an incredibly predictable sitcom route to go. I'm not liking how they're altering the characters of both Jimmy and Sabrina, which is a shame, because I thought they did such a good job with their relationship last season.

They're totally turning her into a less crass Joy Turner.

Interesting episode that didn't quite click but not because of ridiculousness, like most of this season's failing moments but because of muddled execution. I do like the idea of Quinn being there to kill Brody, but the reveal/surprising moment at the end of every episode thing is already old hat.

I have seen almost every episode of ICarly. My step-daughter was initially obsessed and I joined her at some point. Okay, never obsessed, but more "This is surprisingly watchable". It was genuinely fun and endearing in its early seasons. I'd say fifty percent of the time it was middle of the road kid's fair. 30…

I will admit that his shows do tend to run out of gas pretty quickly.

It's happy. It's sincere. But is it good? Not yet.
