I just scrolled up-thread, and it's Donal Logue. I looked into his filmography and I'm not seeing the film I associated him with from the 90s. Apologies if that was a red herring. Thanks again for thinking it through with me tho.

This is on the right track, thanks thatguy. But… Zahn and Hawke both found much greater success than this mystery guy. This guy was less in the Reality Bites or Training Day level of things than in the Lone Star or Happy Texas strata of things. Yet he still landed that one shot at a sitcom, which really confounds…
Name that actor… In the early 1990s, he had a fairly well received indy film set in the southwest. The film had an updated Big Chill sort of plot, where old friends gathered at a house for a weekend. The actor in question had red hair, straight and longish, and he dressed in a way that he could seamlessly move in and…
Happy to see this is based on a graphic novel that I have no feelings about instead of on some Chandler or Hammett material. As a fan of The Rockford Files of the irrational variety, I'd prefer it if Vaughn would at least leave Marlowe and Spade their dignities.
Let's just say that Lewinsky happened to be the one he got caught with and leave it at that.
If there had been Twitter in '83 would we have seen representatives tweeting that Reagan "should be focusing on finding answers re: #Beirut"?
A staple of the late years of The Best Show. Good stuff.
It's a charming movie. Fonda's portrayal is the more one dimensional of the two and Eve is the more interesting and dynamic character. There is a strong gender reversal dimension going on, with Hopsy trying to maintain his purity against Eve's aggressive sexuality.
And after that, a period piece set in mid-19th century American southwest; characters include three wealthy Spanish landowners and a renegade native:
I thought M, the Peter Lorre film, was its lodestar.
I'd buy that for a dollar.
One of my first cassettes, and I played the hell out of it on a portable tape recorder. And still loved it! Anyway, enthusiastic 'seconds' from me.
You suck! I'm totally kidding. I respect your work and enjoyed your interview. I enjoyed it a lot, actually. I'll keep an eye out for your future projects.
Lohan must hate the Kardashians for taking up all that potential Lohan territory in the pop/media landscape.
Look Who's Talking about buying a new plane!
Interesting interview. I'm not super familiar with the stuff he's helped produce but I enjoyed hearing him talk about his career.
This guy responded to posters on the imdb message boards. Never seen that before. Was it really him? He signed his response Peter Tolan! But it does 'sound' like him, telling his story about failing out of UMass.
Obamaghazicare.
Maybe I didn't phrase it well, but I meant less to bring up the show's political orientation than to point to its hackiness. I figured the question, "what if it was rightwing," would conjure in the reader's mind the cable guy types from the blue collar / joe punchclock comedy tour thing. By which I mean lazy, obvious,…
"Look at me, I read a newspaper!" it should be called. Wait Wait… neither funny nor smart nor interesting. And all too proud of itself.
