I watched it this weekend as well. It seems I enjoyed it more than you guys. To me, it was certainly better than The Hurt Locker. Chastain was great and the raid was really intense.

Okay, okay. I just liked the idea of dressing like Bond at least once.

As a groom, actually.

Serious question, what are the rules for 5:00 in the fall? Is a white dinner jacket acceptable?  I don't know this shit!!!

Yep, I had Mulatto Butts as mine. Um, changed it the first week of the new job…living in a cubicle and all.

Nah, if every blustery windbag that said shit like that was reported, there would be an army of secret service canvassing the South. Plus, unless you think he is truly going to go all Travis Bickle, the only outcome would be him knowing it was you that dropped the dime and dealing with the fallout from that.

I know what you mean about that feeling about not smoking for the first time in a long time. That first Tuesday night, I turned to my fiancee and said that those two days of not smoking cigarettes or pot, and not drinking any alcohol would be the first time that has happened for two straight days in something like 17

The main thing is not to beat yourself up over cheating/slipping. Just hang in there. Give yourself little goals and rewards when you reach the milestones.  Keep in mind, nicotine is a fairly powerful addiction and there is other shit in them to make it even stronger, so it is no easy row to hoe.

Back at you, @avclub-75e43c12ef9f1cfdaeae92ca6fa90640:disqus .  Congrats on 2 weeks.  I used an e-cigarette the weekend before I stopped as a way to ease into it. I carried the thing with me on the first Monday and Tuesday just in case of a withdrawal related freak out, but I never used it.

Yeah, breathing is an amazing thing. Not to mention that whole sense of smell…

Yes, I was quite outraged over the pulling of his books and quickly signed up. Between my fiancee and me, the only groups that get any of our money is the Vonnegut library and a few animal charities.

Hmm, I would have to go with Cat's Cradle if I was forced to pick a favorite. I really love Welcome to the Monkey House and of course, Slaughterhouse Five.

Ha! Me too. Was yours due to the attempted book banning a couple of years ago?

My fiancee has already mentioned her desire to get some leather shorts, and she bought and proudly wore high-waisted suede shorts last year. Not to mention, she wore bright red, vegan leather pants to a Christmas party last month.  She is a wee bit flamboyant.

If this is a totally random thread, how is everyone doing with their quitting/resolutions? This is now day number 10 without smoking for me. No cheating, so far, and it has been strangely easy. I suppose it helps that the weather has been god fucking awful and I have been spared the horror of standing out in it

Since I don't see one, here is a book thread.  There was a large gap that needed to be filled by God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater.  God damn, I love Vonnegut. I am almost glad to have waited this long to read it because to me, it is new Vonnegut.

I hate fucking smiling on cue. I completely lack the ability to fake a smile without appearing like a lunatic. With the wedding upcoming, I am absolutely dreading all of the pictures. I find it best to just sort of grin and show no teeth, and I am already getting bitched at for not smiling "bigger."

There is a barrel-aged stout that you can only get at the Sweetwater brewery in Atlanta. It was delicious.

I saw my first gray hairs at 24. 12 years later, I only have a few more in the same spot as the first ones I noticed. I wouldn't worry about seeing any at 25.
