Whoa, he made The Machinist? Like I said above, I thought this movie was pretty crummy; but The Machinist is great, really overlooked and strange little movie. He does like his game-changing twists, apparently…

Same here. I thought it was a dull, ugly turd with a laughable twist when I first saw it…But that's like 10 years ago, and I have heard nothing but praise for it since. Might be time for a re-watch.
It seems the original Sluggo laid eggs somewhere inside the AV Club, and now the place is crawling with his spawn. I wouldn't be surprised if the Disqus fuck-up a few hours ago was due to a larvae Sluggo chewing on some wires. We might have to fumigate.
At least now we know what happened to Internet Eating Sensation Dave Chang. He founded Momofuku! Yet we all know that, despite all the foie gras and caviar, he still longs for the simple gut-busting pleasures of a Chicken in a Can.
Aw, blergh. I used to live right next to Lillehammer, and even the joy of recognition is not enough to make me want more of THAT piece of shit show.
5) Carradine.
I saw them live a month ago. I don't think they were very good at all: they had some audio problems in the first song, got them fixed, and the singer quipped "well, I guess we just have to play the BEST SET OF OUR LIVES!" Then they proceeded to play limp, lifeless versions of each song, with way less instrumentation…
I'd say you got yourself a deal, if said feces are composed of the consumed cheesesteaks and sandwiches.
Oh shut your beak, how can you quak/That I resemble Donald Duck
I'm delicious and I need to be grilled/Just like ever other duck does
N'arm. NARM. NAAAAAAAAARRRM
Yes. The setting for this season is a haunted hot tub, actually.
Hm. Not even Cloud Nothings? They also have a fuzzy, loud and aggressive-yet-joyful sound.
Apparently some ding-dong blogger posted a picture of Scott with the Quvenzhané Onion tweet superimposed, rambling incoherently about how someone must be BROUGHT TO JUSTICE. For some reason he focuses a lot on what the AV Club staff has to say about this. It's really mean-spirited, stupid, and shitty.
Are you talking about Laneway, where they recently played? I saw the Singapore leg; hipster it may be, but what a fucking great lineup. Poliça, Kings of Convenience, Cloud Nothings, Nicolas Jaar, Of Monsters and Men, Divine Fits, Alt-J, Tame Impala, Yeasayer, Bat For Lashes…in addition to your Japandroids. Well worth…
It's a joke machine that runs on us!
@Halloween_Jack:disqus You're a real cool cat.
@PaulKinsey:disqus Where do you get the "she'll be old enough for Clooney in 10 years"-part from? All I'm seeing from the quote is "she'll be too old for Clooney in 16 years". I didn't watch the broadcast, so forgive me if something is missing from the quote.
@avclub-ffc905126015cdc6758873970fb59828:disqus Not that I find the joke horribly offensive either way, but if he is saying that she'll be too old for him in 16 years that means that she is the right age for Clooney now.
@avclub-e576423831e043f7928d9ac113abbe6f:disqus I can assure you that she's heard the word before, what with her being 9 years old and old enough to go to school. But the Daily Beast article on the matter calls it "[a] word she probably shouldn’t hear for another 15 years." Yep: it is expected that nobody should hear…
Asian Don Draper and Black Roger Sterling, a comedy duo for the ages!
