Hey, @avclub-4602fc349ffc0ad649190e937f2a5f14:disqus! You're full of c-
I kinda wish they wouldn't do their already-established characters on the TV show, really. Seeing Sir Dame Andrew Lloyd-Webber as PFT in a shitty cape is a mental image that's hard to shake when you listen to the podcasts later.
The return of The Fat Pug-Nosed Duke?
You know, @Dikachu:disqus, with you "head" takes on a hilarious new meaning!
Jessica St. Clair…Gillian Jacobs…screwing…
@avclub-2586d0717b58d4f4383144ca1341d079:disqus Whoa, that is an incredibly mean-spirited and petty diss against a show on the same network as yours. Why the bitterness?
Nice, the @avclub-ec160682cb3586d851071e80ec63d6c0:disqus stamp of approval. I guess it really IS settled then, ha ha!
Sometimes good things actually become popular. Good News For People Who Love Bad News is one of those things, I love that album.
What's the matter little man, you don't like Zep?
*grabs @avclub-0398e75c1be48a8f66c9cb1c9e6b2052:disqus's nasty pineapple dreadlocks to keep him from fleeing*
I think we just discovered a whole new low in shipping.
Yeah, I was gonna touch on that: "Debaser" is such a great statement of intent when it comes to the themes and lyrics on the LP, "Tame" likewise on the musical content. They're perfect.
I was gonna suggest you get a Words with Friends account, but we all heard how that would have worked out…
"FLEAS the size of RATS sucked on RATS the size of CATS!" Man, his inflection on those lines. Amazing stuff.
Gillian Jacobs is amazing on Comedy Bang Bang. I'm not going to comment on how she might smell or not, but I gotta admit her CBB appearances post-Words with Friends debacle has caused quite the crush.
Agreed; and The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust has pretty spectacular "bookend" songs as well; "Five Years" and "Rock n' Roll Suicide" go perfectly together. Has that been an inventory yet?
The one that immediately sprung to mind was Pixies' Doolittle. Doesn't get much better than the combo of "Debaser" and "Tame". (Of course, 3rd track "Wave of Mutilation" is pretty crucial for the opening, too; the songs are short.)
Excellent list, @avclub-be5dfeb671c12d7520445b9292e10d13:disqus; and I second @avclub-e6f9a55ae660a308ae49c7def7d967be:disqus's "wait, what?" re: the absence of Mirrors. (I also want to add Gooby, my favorite out of the Elliott-less episodes.)
@avclub-c701a997d9bef627835b036efb4eca63:disqus Excellent points by themselves, although somewhat unrelated to the discussion; the initial joke here stems more from Rabin's use of "vaguely recognizable", not any sort of notion that Sasha Grey can't be a good actress because she's been in porn. It's funny because Rabin…
