I agree with your 8-person league analysis. In an 8 person league, you're covered and there's no need to go digging for an Ogletree.

And I'm all out of bubblegum…

I started watching this season with my wife b/c Shanna had been a student of hers, and we were excited to see how the girl would do in the competition. We were pretty disappointed with her dismissal (after consistently strong performances), but with the context you presented in the review, it makes a little more sense.

For everyone complaining about the quality of the show, all I can say is this: at least we didn't get a tag team match this week.

OHHHHHH
YYYEEEAAAHHHHH!!

Pretty please?
Would it be so much to ask that this discussion be extended to sitcoms of the 90s? I came into my TV viewing in that time and would like to see some thoughtful insight about the shows I watched (and some I didn't.)

Ads
I remember seeing some of the longer, Donal Logue-centric ads for the show, but in the future, if anyone were to ask me what I remember about Terriers, it will be the terrible teaser ads of dogs running loose around a beach. I saw that so many time before the show debuted and it confused the hell out of me. Had no

Can't say enough
The Roots = musicianship personified.

Season 4, easily. "Nightman Cometh," "Who Pooped the Bed," and "The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis" (Wildcard, bitches!) are excellent episodes. I would go so far as saying that "Who Pooped the Bed" would be in the series' top 3 episodes. Waitress falling off the wagon, Dee falling head-first into a car door, Artemis'

I read reviews of shows I'm actually watching, and in the case of premieres week, shows that I consider to start watching, whether or not they prove to last longer than a couple of episodes.

Russell
What was that he said you could do with the artichokes? "Titty-bang" them? Kinda surprised they got away with that. I mean, sure, they can say "shit" and whatever else, but something about "titty-bang" seems too risque even for FX.

Low-hanging fruit
Was I the only one who didn't enjoy the 2 1/2 Men joke? It was too easy I thought. As soon as I saw Cartman watching TV, I knew it was going to be that show. It might be because of how much time I've spent on these boards.

Tears of sadness song: "Hurt" - Johnny Cash (right there with ya, Dumbledore)

"Ruxin realizes he has a fake bomb in a box, courtesy of Ruxin." It was Kevin that gave him the box.

Hide yo kidz, hide yo wife.

I seem to remember reading an interview with Cedric Bixler-Zavala (then of At the Drive-In) in which he said he never really put thought into his lyrics, but would rather hum a melody to the music that was already written, and then throw in words with fitting syllables.

Other options?
I read this and immediately thought of Chris Pine. Maybe it's the Paramount - Star Trek connection running through my head.

Come off it, the Olympics only get to win Emmys once every four years anyway.
