What was the line the stats teacher said about Britta and her seemingly endless supply of leather jackets? I thought that summed her up rather well.

Brilliant
Could not have said it better myself. I got sucked into this last weekend while waiting for football playoffs to start and I found it beautifully perplexing. Were these the most fascinating or worthless people on television? Everyone I asked said the same thing: why not both? This review nailed it. Job well

to segue NummyMuffin's comment to another T&E segment…

@drdarkney:

Tuck, you missed what I was saying. I was talking in terms of audience size. The host of the Tonight Show (no matter who it may be) will have a larger audience than the host of Late Night. Why is this? Because a large number of the people who watch the Tonight Show have full-time jobs that require them to wake up at a

"but if The Jay Leno Show hadn't sucked so badly, the affiliates wouldn't have rebelled"

The more and more he comments, the more I'm with Terry on this one. Simple business 101. If you were throwing a birthday party for one of your friends and he likes Nickelback (he wouldn't be your friend, I know, but hypothetically) would you get the band that sounds like Nickelback or the one that sounds like Modest

It's an interesting position though. I have been thinking, "so what if they get rid of the Jay Leno show but ultimately decide to leave the Tonight Show with O'Brien alone after all this?" Sure, it's drawing ratings now, but if he stays on, what happens after the dust settles? Will the audience watching now still be

I agree that I think they are great instrumentalists, performers, and songwriters, but I truly believe that their lyrics are the hardest sell. I get a little tired of them myself. I get the whole "jokey but not really" nature of them, but at times when they want to come off as 5th-grade humor for smart adults, it just

@Bill

"I was livin' in this hole-in-the-wall now called Utah…" is probably the greatest opening to a comedic rambling I've ever heard.

I know a few Ween fanatics, but they never tried to push it on me. I did eventually downloaded Chocolate & Cheese (and still enjoy it) but it was never a "OH MY GOD! You gotta hear these guys!" kinda thing, and for that I am thankful.

Cardigans, eh?
I always loved "Lovefool" and I remember seeing the video for "My Favorite Game" a couple of times on MTV (it was mostly a game of car chicken in the desert shot in black and white, right?) , but after that they fell off my radio. I never forgot who they were and how "Lovefool" almost wore out my copy

So you would rather spend 2 1/2 hours watching crap?

@ ElDan: just call me the Barack Obama of hittin' that ass.

You forgot to mention
One of my favorite parts of the show, the post-challenge "press conference." Usually has some of the funnier bits in the show.

It's been a while since I saw the show, and I only saw an episode or two, but I remember the host not being that good. I thought he was cheesier than Guy Fieri.

I honestly liked Mean Girls. Hell, my brother saw it before me and convinced me to go, and he's not at all a movie kinda guy (very much into sports, his fantasy football league, and video games). We saw it on a Monday night with no one else in the theater. The part where Rachel McAdams got smashed by the bus had me

a Bacchanalian amount.

And Black Guy is one of their best dancers. Isn't that nice!
