I think it also depends whether or not people have money no? I wouldn't be downloading If I had enough money to buy dvds. I've tried renting dvds but they always end up scratched and unwatchable. I do buy music once in a while though.

Ya, I've used that site for work too. Oh well.

I saw the first season of Southland but then it stopped playing on my Canadian tv channel. Is it ok if I skip a few seasons or should I continue with season 2?

maybe.

Haha!!

cool!

I never see Melancholia in any list. I thought it was a great movie. I guess I'm alone in thinking that.

that was a terrible movie if I remember well.

I agree, she needs practice.

What do you you mean by commercial or corporate? I have to admit, I am not a fan of Katy Perry or Kesha, but I do own all Black Keys or White Stripes album. I think it's just a matter of whether you like the group or not and want it to succeed. Maybe I am a fuckwit indie fan.

I do agree she is talented. But I'm not that crazy about "21", I always thought "19" was better. I am happy for her though.

This has probably been said before, but I find music charts depressing. A lot of bad taste (except for Black Keys maybe).

And M Ward apparently.

No it didn't.

The only movie I saw in 2011 was Melancholia (I'm poor) and I think it's the best movie of 2011. Although I should really see Tree Of Life.

I love The Lost City of Z and wasn't crazy about The Hunger Games, although I did finish it. Started Then We Can To The End but was too depressing for me.

Thanks! I'll check those out.

Some of these are old…
Helter Skelter by Bugliosi
Lost City of Z by David Grann
Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer

Since no one is mentioning her, I'm going to say it : Basia Bulat is great! Another one that's good from Canada in the same folky style is Wooden Sky. I listened to them repeatedly!
