I heard someone refer to this movie as a rated R version of The Mask, and after watching it last night, I couldn't think of a more accurate description.
He was a terrific writer when he was at Stereogum, but he pretty much feel off the radar after he went to Pitchfork for cushy editor gig. I say fuck them. There are enough good metal sites, plus places like Echoes and Dust who will review the type of music that I enjoy.
I doubt the current writing staff could pick Steve Albini out of a lineup of studio engineers. They seem to be phasing that stuff out all together.
