I loved that scene. I don't think it ever happens in the books, but it's strongly implied. Tyrion may have saved the city, but history will never remember it that way because of the end of the day he's still a small, twisted demon monkey.

It's a pretty popular theory actually (as Jacqen popped out of the "black cells" with no real background and an attachment to Arya, and Syrio has never died on screen in the book or tv show). Def up for debate.
