If I had to pick a game to send off my PS3 with, I think I could a lot worse than Red Dead Redemption.

The quick answer: Jarhead. The ones I recommend aren't necessarily movies. But check out Generation Kill on HBO (7 ep miniseries). They got all kinds of shit right. Black Hawk Down holds on well aside from when Josh Harnett marks the enemy positions (you want to mark where the good guys are let the pilots blast

There was a big backlash against it by OIF vets. The movie bills itself as a war movie and then portrays everything in the most unrealistic way possible. Others better than me have written essays so I'll try to be quick. Starting with the fact that the uniforms are wrong (and I mean name on the wrong side type of

Wait, The Hurt Locker was good?

Elijah needs to shut the fuck up, Harlem is gentrified enough as it is.

I've only been able to watch this episode once after I came back and left the Army. It's the only one in the series I can't sit through and I mean that with all the respect in the world.

This episode really stands out for me. Between Winters on the train, and Nixon at the movies, it got half of my family to stop asking questions.

Why is it lacking if it doesn't have a rape?

Ok, let me see if I can make you understand. 1-) Rape is WAY MORE common than murder. In 2012, there were 84,376 REPORTED rapes. There were 18,427 murders. Now think about how many rapes go unreported.

Yes, and if you can't consider in the context of the world we live in, then there's really not a lot to say to you.

The other thing to consider is that the Targaryens came from outside Westeros. In the history of the realm, they are newcomers to that continent. The Lannisters are an old institution, and expected to act according to Westeros traditions.

How is it "far from it"? She's saying "no," she's trying to fight him off, how is this not rape?

So basically, rape is okay as long it's someone we despise. Good to know.

THANK YOU

Yeah, because losing are balls is something we have to worry about on a daily basis. Part of the problem here is that biggest show on television has TWO rape scenes where there should have been none.

It Doesn't matter, it's the fact that she said no, that she tried to fight him off. It wasn't a rape because she didn't want to have sex in the sept. It was rape because she didn't want it, period.

It should be the other way around.  The Wire isn't standing on the shoulders of the Sopranos.

But, but….what about the dark babies!!!???

@avclub-c1bac1d55ebcc415d61552acbfbb219d:disqus  for some reason, I'm not able to reply directly, hope it gets to you.  Not necessarily sure what Melissa Harris-Perry's comments the other day would have to do with the comments I'm making, but that's something for another day, if ever.

But you do have a point.  That's why I made the comment about the token.  Their break-up scene had a plenty of gravitas and it's a shame that a show of this caliber couldn't find more use.  But all in all, it was cheap and reeked of tokenism.
