In the episode where the guys dress like the Justice League for Stuart's New Year's Party (which Stuart seemed to be able to decently plan without Raj's help, by the way), and they wanted Penny to be Wonder Woman, Penny asks why Amy can't do it, and Sheldon says Amy doesn't believe in costumes.

I agree Amy may be pushing a compromise point. But as to her pop culture geekiness, it's been established she's not into Star Wars or Star Trek as she confused the two and Penny had to correct her on it.

A Doctor Who companion doesn't seem a stretch for Amy. She was watching the show with Sheldon a few episodes back. And even if she wouldn't go for it the idea should have been written on the board.

That level of clarity means Leonard has essentially invented holographic television and is going to become very, very rich.

They certainly have dialed up the awkward on Stuart over the past few seasons. I remember when he started he was suave enough to get a date with Penny, and kind of make out with her, and he was buddies with Wil Wheaton, and even last season he wasn't a complete tool around Amy.

The enchanted forest is really just Imaginationland, isn't it?

But Storybrooke is not completely lacking in technologies that didn't exist when the curse put them there. They have cell phones, they get outside TV signals, and all of their cars are not 1983 models.

Henry had to have been aging before Emma came to town. He was a baby brought in from the outside. Certainly Emma didn't give birth to him in Storybrooke. She had never heard of the place before.

I like that the episode did a bit of a fake out earlier, when Rumple first went to the Jones boat to get his wife back, the dude sitting next to the Captain looked like a traditional Smee, I kind of wondered if he was.

Storybrooke can still get modern pop culture through the barrier. There's no reason he couldn't have named his shop more recently.
