This started with the very first season where fashion week happened like 1 or 2 weeks into the season, and they ran decoys so they could edit it without killing the suspense.  But, with the show's schedule now its like 4 or 5 decoys + the 3 that go on to fashion week.  Origami Rose had a decoy show.

She's a better designer, but that outfit was the worst.  THE WORST.  It was poorly executed, poorly designed, and only interesting in the conceptual.  It was also a knock off idea from Dimitry's floating panels jacket that the judges went gaga over in the Design Your Print challenge.

Avant Garde has always been experimental, and not in the way that the designers thought it meant, but we're talking REALLY experimental.  Just doing a high collar wouldn't be enough, but if you're going to do it…Take it over the edge and don't stop.

Its true that ball gowns are usually made in a weird way with collars, feathers, or weird cut out shapes sewn on to muslin that look more like a kindergarten art project than an avant garde dress.  But, I still think that even those looks are more experimental than this range of clothing.
