I feel that artistically, "The Walk" was kind of their high-water mark (have you heard the incredible Japanese-CD-only bonus tracks?), though Anthem grew on me once I got past the fact that every song is … uh … an anthem of some sort.

They make good, snappy records, with tight harmonies, key changes and the odd-metered bar every so often. On stage, they consistently deliver a really solid old-fashioned American rockshow; they cover 60s soul records, convincingly, and then they turn around and —energetically and without weariness, or ironic snark —

"Jim Henson's Hanson Babies"

"Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" is another example of this.

"Into The Woods" ought to have been a animated movie, preferably in the 2D hand-drawn style.

Julie who? What puppets?

We had one near where I grew up in Los Angeles (in Northridge, at Corbin and Nordhoff by the Music Plus and the Gemco, if you want to be exact about it) in the early 1980s.

The brilliance of the animation is substantially undermined by the utter tediousness of watching the animator preface the work with unnecessary and self-congratulatory pap like "What I liked about designing this box film was …" and "It was nice to get all that into that film" — and having these intercut with clips

No, because the documentation is at home. Filed under "D."
