It was a good summer read, but I don't know if it should be on any "Best of" list. Struck me as the kind of book that should be given the dubious label of "popular fiction" as opposed to Literature with a capital L.

I'll always regret the fact that I didn't buy RE4 on PS2 when I had the chance. Now I'll probably never find it. Best of the series, by far.

Star Time - James Brown
If you have a mundane customer service job, you don't need anything else.

Even though I don't have Blu-ray, I will one day and that is a dilemma to dread when you have 200-odd DVDs. It's probably worth the price simply for the convenience.

Wasted potential
Like most rock fans worth listening to, I'm a big fan of all the bands which have involved any of these guys. Naturally, I was massively excited when I heard about this new project, but after hearing the album, I felt let down.

Overthrow it like throwing Rover a biscuit
A lot of bitches think he overly chauvinistic

Early Jim Carrey
Ace Ventura
The Mask
Dumb and Dumber

When was the last time you heard anyone talk about No Doubt?
They must need money baaaad.

Because I've never seen an actual episode of The Twilight Zone (doesn't get shown here) all I could think about while reading this was The Simpsons and Futurama. It's been riffed on so much that I feel like I've already seen them all. There's a similar effect with Star Wars and any other omnipresent cultural

Hell yeah baby. Can't wait to see this.

I love it when Hutch starts talking like Wallace.

Papa Don't Take No Mess is 10 minutes long? That's what I get for downloading Star Time and calling it a day.

@Pickney - Fair enough, I suppose, but it did really seem to me that the only reason for doing that (apart from the fact that it's an adaptation) was to piss off the audience. Any time a film is more fun for the maker than for the auidence, my enjoyment of video games skyrockets.

Release Pts 1, 2 and 3 by Blackalicious
is my "Why didn't you have this one?" pick, and that's only because "Funky Drummer" by James Brown is just a few minutes too short.

I concur.

I also loved Seth Green in Idle Hands. That movie was ace.

Most of my favourite jokes from The Young Ones involve the characters addressing the camera or breaking the fourth wall in some way.

Patriotism
Maybe it's because I live in NZ, but I've always had a soft spot for any American movie featuring a heart-swelling, chest-pounding nod to the good ol' US of A by proving that America could solve any problem if everyone set aside their differences and worked together.

I'm with you, HPM; that picture sparked some kind of Pavlovian desire to go Patrick Bateman on her face and I'm usually so timid.

@IWVYIYGA: I thought I was the pretentious cunt.
